Diaverum Germany has decided not to reopen the dialysis centre in Wermelskirchen after its temporary closure in June 2022. The care of the patients is secured at the location in Remscheid. The employees are also taken care of: their jobs are to be maintained in Remscheid.
The centre in Wermelskirchen had belonged to Diaverum since 2012 and was operated as a subsidiary of the Diaverum Remscheid centre. In June, the centre was temporarily closed due to the staffing situation on site, in order to be able to care for the patients safely and to allow the staff to take their well-deserved holiday leave. In addition, the water treatment system was to be replaced during the closure.
During the period of closure, it became clear that it still made sense to concentrate operations at one site.
"We regret having to close the centre in Wermelskirchen," explains Petra Stenzel, Area Manager for the West Region. "The usual good care of our dialysis patients is close to our hearts, and at the same time we want to provide our employees with a secure job. We ensure both by joining forces in Remscheid in the future."
Diaverum will of course continue its good cooperation with the Wermelskirchen hospital.
